Morphemes that can stand alone to function as words are called free morphemes. They comprise simple words (i.e. words made up of one free morpheme) and compound words (i.e. words made up of two free morphemes). Examples: Simple words: the, run, on, well Compound words: keyboard, greenhouse, bloodshed, smartphone
Morphemes that can only be attached to another part of a word (cannot stand alone) are called bound morphemes. Examples: pre-, dis-, in-, un-, -ful, -able, -ment, -ly, -ise pretest, discontent, intolerable, receive
Hello mardiah. Is it still not understood? I will explain in detail so that it can make you understand and I will feel satisfied if the reader understandsππ
A morpheme is the smallest linguistic unit which has a meaning; Morpheme is the smallest part of language that has meaning - it can even change the meaning of other words. There are two (2) types of morpheme that are 'mandatory' for us to know, namely free morpheme and bound morpheme.
Free morpheme, Free morpheme or also called Root (root word) is a morpheme that can stand alone and has a clear meaning even without another morpheme. This type of morpheme makes it possible to become a word (word). Free morpheme is divided into 2 types, namely lexical morpheme and functional morpheme.
Lexical morpheme is a free morpheme that can stand alone, but can also be affixed (affix) either the prefix (prefix) or suffix (suffix). Word classes that include lexical morpheme are noun, adjective, verbal and adverb.
Functional morpheme can stand alone, but can not be added like lexical morpheme. Which includes functional morpheme that is pronoun such as she, they, this, those, that, whose, etc. conjunction like and, or, if, since, after, etc. interjection such as waow, oops, auch, etc. prepositions such as of, in, at, under , etc., and articles such as the, a and an.
Bound Morpheme, Bound morpheme is a morpheme whose meaning depends on another morpheme (Freemorpheme). Bound morpheme cannot stand alone and always attaches to Free morpheme as an affix (Affix) and may change the meaning of the free morpheme it attaches. Free morpheme that can be attached to bound morpheme is only lexical morpheme while functional morpheme cannot. Bound morpheme is divided into 2 types, namely inflectional morpheme and derivational morpheme.
1. Infective Morpheme This morpheme does not change the meaning of the free morpheme it attaches, nor does it change the word class, for example from noun to noun, from verb to verb, etc. Some inflectional morpheme are er, est, s, es, ed, en and ing.
inflectional morpheme functions include superlative and comparative degrees (est, er), forming V2 and V3 (ed, en), making things plural (s, es), for verbs on 3rd singular person (s, es) and present participle (V1 + ing).
2. Derivational Morpheme This morpheme changes the meaning of the morpheme it attaches, for example from positive to negative / the opposite of the morpheme attached, forms a new term, and changes its word class, for example from noun to adjective, from adjective to noun, from verb to noun, from verb to noun adjective, etc.
oh .....no there is happy happy seeing your post like this. really ugly doesn't suit the person haha. not very creative, make silent presentations. want to be a statue not here haha ..
try to understand it further, not just for the task and expect grades. try to improve it and relearn how your material can be easily understood by everyone☺
yeah that was my first presentation in this lesson so it made me pretty excited but if we use video then it can't be explained again except using a special application
Hi, Danita. The morphological functions in their linguistics have in common that is the same knowledge that studies about language and morphology is a branch of linguistics.
The point is that with this morphology you will know how the formation of words changes in meaning and whether the changes are located at the beginning or at the end and reinterpret words after they are affixed.
Hi ferdi. Your video about morphology is also very good if you are included in the video or recorded as a sign that you are making the video and also introduce to the reader how to make the video well.
if you add an affix at the beginning of a word it is called prefix example: disappear (appear) if you add an affix at the end of a word it's called suffix example: slowly (slow)
yes I have almost understood, but there are still other questions ferdyππ Can one morpheme be added simultaneously between suffix and prefix?hope you answer my question soon
well I will try to always answer and reply to comments given to it because it is also included in the assignment. Is there anything you want to ask Amel?
Hello Chamelia Manalu. Yes, you are right. Our topic is indeed about morphology, which means the study of the ins and outs of words and changes in word meanings.
Also good if you use a profile photo so that readers can get to know this blog's property. And you also if you make videos with two languages is also very good.
Hi, Ferdi. Your video is very interesting using the latest features. I like creative people like this, improve it more and update technology okayππ
Words are thus both independent since they can be separated from other words and move around in sentences, and the smallest units of language since they are the only units of language for which this is possible. Its the advice from your topic π
Yes, of course, you should always post because in order to be seen our blogs all the contents vary and can be used by many people. So, don't forget to always post things that are useful for us and also other people, guys☺️☺️π
I think in Ferdi's video it was clearly stated what morphology was. But if you still don't understand, I'll try to explain again. Morphology is a branch of linguistics where morphology studies the ins and outs of words and changes in meaning in words.
Hi Ferdiππ» I like ur video. But i wanna ask you, In market and office languages, are there differences in morpheme? Please explain and give examplesπ
I can help answer your question Erni. In both market and office languages there are affixes which change the meaning of the word but sometimes only differ between the market person and the office person ππ
because we study linguistics, therefore we pay attention to grammar. well because you explained that I want to ask what is the difference between morphology and syntax? because what I know is syntax also concerns grammar.
yes I think the difference between morphology and syntax is on the material being studied. if morphology is the study of words, the syntax learns about sentences
Hi Kezia. ☺️ Don't you think what morphology is? Morphology is linguistics that studies the ins and outs. Who says socially don't? Of course we learn this when we interact with many people not to make mistakes anymoreπ
Inflection (inflectional) is the process of forming new words by adding affixes to a word that does not change the class of words. In other words, if a word gets a prefix, suffix, or infix, then the word class of the word is still the same, for example the word "book" becomes "books".
maybe what you mean is inflectional morphemes Lexemes are words with certain sounds and certain meanings. The form can vary depending on the syntactic context. Example: dogs and dogs, different grammatical forms of the same lexeme dog. the addition of s to the word dog to explain the number that means there are more than 1 or called plura
from some articles that I read Morphologi is a branch of linguistics that identifies the basic units of language as grammatical units, why should they be with grammatical units why not other units?
Hi ferdi πΈ your video is short, its great, but I think I'll be bored because of your voice is flat π the video doesn't has a nothing special π the video is so so maybe because all of video use powtoon π€£π€£ I'm so sorry π πΈSalam EsJuCoal
Hallo ferdiππgreeting from me ziraπi think your video nice, but why very short?πany problem to yo?are you understand about this?i think you can answerππ
Hii ferdiπi think your voice at your video so flat, make me see your video.boredπand you can give your video with good backsoundπgood luck learn how to make good video kkayπ°π°
Hello ferdi syaputraππ i have watched your video. Your discussion is about morphology right. I want to ask you about free morpheme, there are any types of free morphemes or no ?? If yes can you tell me the types of free morphemes??
There are 2 type of free morphemes -Lexical morphemes are morphemes that can stand alone and that can convey the contents of the message we convey, divided into 3, namely verbs, nouns and adjectives. Example: read (verb), baby (noun), cool (adj).
-Functional morphemes are morphemes that can stand alone but the contents are unclear, divided into 4, namely conjunctions, prepositions, articles, and pronouns. Example: but (conj), at (prep), the (artc), she (pronoun).
Aahh i see . Thank you so much ferdi for the answer of my questionππ . I think now i more understand about the types of free morphemesππ . You explain is so clearclyππ . but can i ask you again ??
Morphology is study of formation words and structure of words. Do you think it is important to us to learn about words?? Why we should learn about words ?? I meant we know word and yeah when we are talking we are using word . So why we have to learn word again??
I think we all know every meaning of words right. Because if we don't know the every meaning of words of course we can not talk to everyone . I am not understand about meaning of words did you mean really . Can you explain to me please ???
to learn the meaning of words and also combining words so we will not be wrong in the choice of words that we will say or write. if you study morphology its uniqueness that each word can change its meaning and type if combined with other words such as affix
hi ferdy.. i also read about morphology in other link like https://www.ilmubahasainggris.com/linguistic-pengertian-morphology-pembagian-jenis-dan-contohnya-dalam-bahasa-inggris/, in there i read that types of morphology also has several branches and i don't see that in your blog,, how about it?
yes, indeed morphology has many types and branches but in this video I only explain about free and bound morphemes. but if you look at my post about morphology before there I explain more about the types and branches of morphology
Why you don't put in here?? Because it will be better if you put in here.. And all of reader can be more understand if your material is clear.. One more, which one link you use to understand about your material?put in here to support your explanation..π
Hello, Ferdi. Nice to know you are so good at video editting π Your topic is good too. But beside that, can you let me know why you choose morphology as your topic? And what's the best book references for morphology? I think i'm interesting with this topic π
I chose morphology because I was quite interested in it. we can know that the meaning of a word can change if combined with other words is quite unique. and sorry for the book reference I also don't know because so far I've only studied morphology via the internet
I have another question too hehe. What are the common parameters to control the morphological features while designing an immobilization process? Can't wait to see your answer!
sorry because I do not understand your question because of that I will only fight improvise. in my opinion the controller in morphology is the addition of words to it because it will change its type
ferdi I think your voice on your video is so flat, for me to watch the video ... π€£π€£π€£ so I have a stomachache hearing your voice, how do you feel when playing your video ??? π π
Ferdi your video explanation is good. And you said that Morphology is study of formation words and structure of words.so what the advantages from learning morphology? Please explain to meπ
if you choose morphology then you must also have your own reasons. for me morphology is quite interesting and unique because it learns words and their changes
And You know you explain in your video it's too fast why don't you set the time ?? the pmbac's having trouble understanding your explanation ... I think like that ... maybe you should fix itπππ
Hii ferdi and also i don't like your template..not interesting and make me bored ... i think you should also replace it..and i'm sorry if you dont like my commentπππ
hi zaki, have you watched the video? in this video I explain that there are two types of morphology, namely bound and free. free morphemes do not have an affix and stand alone. for example: run, sleep, walk bound morphemes have affixes and cannot stand alone. for example: unclearly, unafraid
Hello Ferdy, good material I like it. Keep posting make be better π what lessons can you take from this morphology, please you explain based on your own ?
In the process of morphology, there is word formation or what is called affixation, which is the process of adding bound morphemes to free morphemes. My question is, why can bound morphemes be added to free morphemes? What is the process of adding it to a sentence? Please explainπ
I really like the way you explain this material even though I don't understand it a bit, I want to ask what is the importance of morphology in everyday life?
if I see you are very understanding about morphology. whether in the future you want to be a morphology linguist, I think you are very suitable to become an expert
heyya ferdy .. how are you? ferdy ferdy why dont you changed your template its look like rendoom. i think youre not creative and you dont put some animation here
heyya verdy i have question for you. why you choose this topic to be your material? and why not the other topic? do you have some probl on this topic? tell me
Hello Ferdi. Your topics is morphonology. So, i want to ask you. Morphology is the branch of linguistics that identifies the basic units of language as grammatical units. Can you tell me what the meaning? Tell me in detail explanation. Thank you ferdiπ
Ferdi, your templete very dark like yourself, hahaha.. Choose another color, don't use your blog to tell another people about your life.. Hahahahaπ€£π
Hy ferdi, how are you?I hope you always happy every dayπΌ.why you choose this topic?you think its simple or not?give me your reason and your goals to know about your topic?.and your template so darkππ
Ferdi you make videos simply and use language that is easy for many to understand. but still your video seems boring and does not give an impression, I as a reader suggest that you try another wayπ
I wanna give you question, ferdi. Is it allowed to use the concept of morphology in spoken languages? I'm really glad if you answer my question, thanks.
Ferdi you make videos simply and use language that is easy for many to understand. but still your video seems boring and does not give an impression, I as a reader suggest that you try another way
Hello Ferdi. Your topics is morphonology. So, i want to ask you. Morphology is the branch of linguistics that identifies the basic units of language as grammatical units. Can you tell me what the meaning? Tell me in detail explanation.
Ferdi, your video is very good, a lot of videos I have seen on other blogs but only your blog is the best, interesting and not boring. keep posting ferdi.
Syntax is the part or branch of language that discusses the intricacies of discourse, sentences, clauses, and phrases, different from morphology that discusses the forms of words and morphemes. In KBBI it is stated that morphology is the linguistic branch of morpheme and its combination
the contents of your blog are good ferdi but in my opinion the theme of your blog will be better replaced because it is less attractive in my opinion, so if the contents and themes are interesting it will add to the readers prefer to read your blog
Hello ferdi, thanks for make this blog.. I wanna ask you based on the material previously explained, do you have other opinions in determining morphemes, morphs, and allomorphs? PleaSe explain about it π€ thank you
halli hallo ferdy? how are you, long time no see.how is your new year?? Ferdy i wanna ask you something that i wanna knoe from you about morphology. who the founder and when morphology born in the world?
Hai ferdii ππ . How was your day ? Are you okey there? So ferdii , When i open your blog, i feel so confuse π. Cause you only put the link and ask the reader to open it by their own . Ouhh so bad ππ, hahahaha
Hello Ferdii, good material I like it. Keep posting make be better ππ what lessons can you take from this morphology, please you explain based on your own ?
Good videos are just not interesting, the animation is almost all there is nothing, do you not know the up to date π³π³

Hapusand of course if you know, can we tell me what kind of animations and ways you think are up to date
HapusYes you right, you can find in Internet. You can get it yourself, I don't have time for you πππ
HapusI know you don't have free time because of the many college assignments and I also experienced it so thank you for your previous advice reniπ
Hapusyour video is good, because it's good, there's no explanation from the bound and free parts. explain it!
BalasHapusMorphemes that can stand alone to function as words are called free morphemes. They comprise simple words (i.e. words made up of one free morpheme) and compound words (i.e. words made up of two free morphemes).

Oh,I see ferdi.and I think if you make a sentence in your blog, its make people more understandπ
Hapusokay mardiah I hope you understand from my explanation. and if there is still something you don't understand, you can ask again
HapusHello mardiah. Is it still not understood? I will explain in detail so that it can make you understand and I will feel satisfied if the reader understandsππ

HapusThis morpheme does not change the meaning of the free morpheme it attaches, nor does it change the word class, for example from noun to noun, from verb to verb, etc. Some inflectional morpheme are er, est, s, es, ed, en and ing.
inflectional morpheme functions include superlative and comparative degrees (est, er), forming V2 and V3 (ed, en), making things plural (s, es), for verbs on 3rd singular person (s, es) and present participle (V1 + ing).

small + er = smaller
long + est = longest
walk + ed = walked
give + en = given

examples that change meaning, such as ir, in, eg, un, re, hood, ship:
Hapusin + correct = incorrect (correct = true, to incorrect = false)
ir + regular = irregular (regular = irregular, being irregular = irregular)
mis + understand = misunderstand (understand = understand, become misunderstand = misunderstand)
Your video is good, but I want to ask functions of morphology in linguistics??
BalasHapusto find out the meaning of words and the combination of words
Hapuswhat kind of combination of words do you mean ?? can you explain and give examples to make it easier to understand
HapusI think your video is very simple to watch. can you provide animation and change the music in it. it will likely add more appeal to your videos
Hapusoh .....no there is happy happy seeing your post like this. really ugly doesn't suit the person haha. not very creative, make silent presentations. want to be a statue not here haha ..
Hapusthe combination of words that I mean is if the word is added to the word again or we usually call it with affixes
Hapusactually I'm already quite satisfied with my video although you could say it's simple but it's mine. and I also really appreciate your advice
Hapusmy post is for everyone to see so it's not to make you happy. but can you give a suggestion so you like my blog too?

HapusHi ferdi.
HapusYour video about morphology is also very good if you are included in the video or recorded as a sign that you are making the video and also introduce to the reader how to make the video well.
Your topic is about morphology right? So i wanna ask you, according to you which is more productive morpheme un or able ?
BalasHapusI think both are productive because they can be used for affixes
HapusOh i see ..
HapusThank you for your answer ferdy
But i'm still confused about affix and frefix in morphology?
Would you like to explain it?
if you add an affix at the beginning of a word it is called prefix
Hapusexample: disappear (appear)
if you add an affix at the end of a word it's called suffix
example: slowly (slow)
do you already understand Amel if not you can ask the part that you don't know in the comment column
Hapusyes I have almost understood, but there are still other questions ferdyππ
HapusCan one morpheme be added simultaneously between suffix and prefix?hope you answer my question soon
sorry but I can only answer based on my opinion. from what I've learned I haven't found the affix in the middle of the word
Hapusthat's not what my question mean ferdy, my point is that can both of them (prefix, suffix) be used in one word(morpheme)?
Hapusoh sorry I misinterpreted your question, if that's what you ask then the answer is yes it can be an
Hapusexample: break (unbreakable)
Oh i see..
HapusThank you for your answer ferdy..
You did it wellπ
well I will try to always answer and reply to comments given to it because it is also included in the assignment. Is there anything you want to ask Amel?

BalasHapusbecause if we learn languages, we must be able to understand the meaning of each word which is learned by morphology
Hapuswhat factors that can change the words meaning in morphology?
BalasHapusthe factor that influences the meaning of words is the addition of affixes to the word, so the meaning and form of the word will change
Hapuswhy we should know the words combination?
BalasHapuswe must know it to understand the meaning and purpose of the word so that mistakes do not occur in the choice of words
Hapusferdy
BalasHapusDoes every word studied in morphology have meaning?
yes every word has its own meaning but in morphology we also learn that the meaning of a word can change if added with an affix
Hapusyou understand elena I think if we talk about affixes, almost everyone will know, but here we will talk about affixes in English
HapusHaiii ferdi, your video is very good, but can you explain why we have to study morphology, what are the benefits, and what is unique about morphology?
BalasHapusto learn the meaning of words and also combining words so we will not be wrong in the choice of words that we will say or write. if you study morphology its uniqueness that each word can change its meaning and type if combined with other words such as affix
Hapuscan you give me some examples and tips for choosing words so that I am not mistaken in writing
Hapushaii verdy your video is very good but your explanation si fast and i little can cacth that
BalasHapussorry, my explanation was too fast because I wanted the duration to be around 1 minute, for the next video posting I would fix it
Hapushi ferdy.. i also read about morphology in other link like https://www.ilmubahasainggris.com/linguistic-pengertian-morphology-pembagian-jenis-dan-contohnya-dalam-bahasa-inggris/, in there i read that types of morphology also has several branches and i don't see that in your blog,, how about it?
BalasHapusyes, indeed morphology has many types and branches but in this video I only explain about free and bound morphemes. but if you look at my post about morphology before there I explain more about the types and branches of morphology
HapusWhy you don't put in here?? Because it will be better if you put in here.. And all of reader can be more understand if your material is clear.. One more, which one link you use to understand about your material?put in here to support your explanation..π
HapusHello, Ferdi. Nice to know you are so good at video editting π Your topic is good too. But beside that, can you let me know why you choose morphology as your topic? And what's the best book references for morphology? I think i'm interesting with this topic π
BalasHapusI chose morphology because I was quite interested in it. we can know that the meaning of a word can change if combined with other words is quite unique. and sorry for the book reference I also don't know because so far I've only studied morphology via the internet
HapusYeah that's pretty unique. Thanks for the answer. It's okay for the book reference, i will try tog find by my self :)
Hapusyeah sorry for not being able to help but if you managed to find the reference book can you tell me about the book
HapusI have another question too hehe. What are the common parameters to control the morphological features while designing an immobilization process? Can't wait to see your answer!
BalasHapussorry because I do not understand your question because of that I will only fight improvise. in my opinion the controller in morphology is the addition of words to it because it will change its type
HapusI hope you can understand even a little but if not then you can ask again but I do not guarantee to answer it
HapusI like your theme, ferdi. It looks like yourself. I mean this theme is fit with your gentleman in a real life hehe π

BalasHapusyes I have to find media and video maker applications and edit them. also recording sound for the video
Hapusand if we discuss difficulties I think everyone making videos must have their own difficulties and I'm sure you are too.

HapusFerdi your video explanation is good.
BalasHapusAnd you said that Morphology is study of formation words and structure of words.so what the advantages from learning morphology?

BalasHapusKomentar ini telah dihapus oleh pengarang.
Hapushi zaki, have you watched the video? in this video I explain that there are two types of morphology, namely bound and free.
Hapusfree morphemes do not have an affix and stand alone. for example: run, sleep, walk
bound morphemes have affixes and cannot stand alone. for example: unclearly, unafraid
Oh..,i see. Thank's. Ferdy, why you choose this topic, can you tell to me what's your reason.? And why you don't choose another.?

Hello Ferdy, good material I like it. Keep posting make be better π
BalasHapuswhat lessons can you take from this morphology, please you explain based on your own ?
In the process of morphology, there is word formation or what is called affixation, which is the process of adding bound morphemes to free morphemes. My question is, why can bound morphemes be added to free morphemes? What is the process of adding it to a sentence? Please explainπ
BalasHapusI really like the way you explain this material even though I don't understand it a bit, I want to ask what is the importance of morphology in everyday life?
BalasHapushmm I think you can make videos better than this, rest assured, keep learning with your friends, and I'm waiting for your next video.

BalasHapusFerdi, i have a question. i wanna ask you. Are morphology and syntax related? explain to me. I want the best answer ππ
BalasHapusSyntax is the part or branch of language that discusses the intricacies of discourse, sentences, clauses, and phrases, different from morphology that discusses the forms of words and morphemes. In KBBI it is stated that morphology is the linguistic branch of morpheme and its combination
HapusFerdi, i have question one more . what do you think is meant by morphology in various languages. I dont understand about it.
BalasHapusHonestly, your performance while making videos is not satisfying. I hope you are more creativeπ
